Personal
In order to permit others to feel comfortable in building a relationship with me, I feel it is imperative to allow them to understand who I am and my own personal background. Although a written synopsis cannot conceivably cover all aspects of an individual's life, nevertheless, I will attempt to highlight pertinent parts that will assist in formulating a strong foundation and allow you to know me. My name is Jason W. Hersch, the son of Dr. and Mrs. I. Warren Hersch and I have one sister, Jennifer LaRocca. I was born in Shands Hospital, at the University of Florida, in Gainesville, Florida, while my Father was completing his dental school education. As the son of a Naval Officer, my family traveled often, before settling in Florida. Coincidentally, I can claim to having lived in Baldwin Park when it was still a Naval Yard facility. From the age of five, I was raised in Florida attending its public elementary, middle, and high schools. Coming from a family with numerous University of Florida graduates, it was inevitable that I would attend said institution for my university studies. In fact, my first three words were, “Great be Gator.” After completing my Bachelor of Arts degree, in Religious Studies, I then matriculated to McGill University, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to work on my Master of Arts in Islamic Studies. During this phase of my life, my Mother passed away, and a reaffirmation towards the importance of family grew within. With an interest in legal studies and taxation having developed, since I had studied these aspects within Islamic law, I decided to enroll in law school. I ventured back to Florida, to be closer to my Father and sister, and commenced my legal education in Jacksonville, at the Florida Coastal School of Law. It was while attending law school, during my second year, that I met my wife, Nadia F. Noor. She is a physician and completed both her medical school and residency program, in Internal Medicine, at Shands Hospital, in Gainesville, at the University of Florida. Fortunately, after successfully completing the arduous journey otherwise known as law school and the Florida Bar Examination, during the February 2009 administration, I am now a member of the Florida Bar. Along with my wife and son, Moses, we now reside in the New Tampa-area and are transplants from Celebration, Florida.
